Kai Shing has always been striving to provide quality property and facility management services to its residents and tenants.
On 23 November 2012, Best Practice Management presented Kai Shing with an award in Operation Management, recognizing the company's contribution in bringing a higher level of management services to the International Commerce Centre (ICC). This award is presented by the Best Practice Management since year 2000 for organizations having the virtue of adopting and practising quality management practices in running businesses.
Since 2005, Kai Shing has involved in the pre-management of the building, providing advice to the project team in the operation and maintenance aspects of the building. In 2007, Kai Shing has also sent the management team of ICC to overseas countries and tenant's headquarters to study the best practices of facility management in other places. With this, Kai Shing has been able to set up the 24 by 7 helpdesk service team for serving occupants, taking advantage of the web-based computer platform and telephone system to increase the interaction with occupants and enhancing service response.
During various stages of the building construction, Kai Shing's team in ICC has overcome challenges while continuing enhancing communications with tenants and meeting the high standard requirement of facility maintenance. This year, with the successful implementation of the newly established ISO50001 Energy Management System in 2011, significant energy savings have also been attained, thus reducing the overall energy consumption as well as carbon emission of the building.
There are altogether 13 categories in the Best Practice Awards. Among the other, Kai Shing has the honour being the only property and facility management company in the operation management category this year to be awarded the Best Practice Award (Operation Management) in recognition of its contribution in the continuous application of best practices in the property management sector especially in managing the ICC landmark building in Hong Kong.
